Unique Burger Experience:
The Vortex burger is a one of a kind, and if you live in Atlanta, you know all about them. The Vortex has locations in both Midtown and Little Five Points, and both provide unique attractions and great food.
Located in the heart of Little Five Points, the Vortex is a Must Eat Atlanta restaurant. The great part about Little Five Points, is that you never really know who or what you might encounter. From the Thursday night motorcycle club to the white collar business folks, part of the attraction is people watching. They also have a great patio, which is perfect for the warmer weather months.
It’s been a number of years since my last Vortex burger, so I was extremely enthusiastic when my brother handed me a $50 gift card. The burgers range anywhere from Basic to Triple Coronary Bypass, and if you have ever attempted the Coronary Bypass, please contact me.
We started off the night with the Kari-Kari, which is really just Crab Rangoon. Kind of weird and out of place for a classic burger place, but still pretty good. I had the Big Bad Voodoo Patty, which is a bacon burger topped with spicy cream cheese and pepper jelly. A little too much cream cheese, as you can see from the picture, and it wasn’t as spicy as I was hoping for, but still delicious.
The beer and spirit selection is extensive, and the portions are hefty as well. Don’t forget the Vortex is a bar, which means it’s 18 and up and smoking is allowed.
The only disappointment was the appetizer selection, which lacked the creativity of the rest of the menu, but who really needs appetizers when you can get a hefty Vortex burger.
